Halfway to Leadership certificate, INT 312

Research poster presentation.

So I've been lacking in postings about the little house and my spring class simply because I've been too busy. At one point I did open this page and discovered I had zero interest in writing anything about what was going on. Far cry from researching bars and restaurants a year ago.

INT 312 is a class about Collaborative Communication, and the curriculum was built around what is called the World Cafe model. The premise is within a large group, break those groups down to small, intimate tables, and allow the table to brainstorm and discuss one key question while at said table. Participants are given markers in order to write, doodle, and build on concepts on the paper that covers the table. Moderators move among the teams and facilitate conversation. From there, conversation follows the flow of conversation to mining discoveries within, called "the harvest."

Since we are in the midst of a pandemic, no in-person conversation could take place. For my project, having participants from across the US, I couldn't pinpoint a precise moment to host a virtual conversation, so I created a private group where invitees could post at-will. A secondary group was initiated, by asking the question within an already existing group.

Results were interesting, and I found it easy to map the conversation and identify topics within the conversation and labelled it accordingly on cafe paper that wasn't available virtually. My conclusions were about both the topic of the conversation and about the World Cafe model process.

The poster was due today, but I turned it in this past Monday. I already have a perfect score in the class, and hope that trend continues.

With the conclusion of this class, it's amazing to realize I'm halfway through with the required courses for my certificate in Leadership. My final two classes will be in the fall, Leadership for Social Change and Person and Profession.

To quote Johnny Weir, come December, I'm gonna rock my tassel.

LHOTR - Spring Break scrapbook

New handle for the Big Green Egg.

Spring break musts include river coffee and loaded lemonade.

Daffodils and the new location of the fire pit.

We hung the hammock!

River life, part 1.

Upgrading riverside appeal by adding shutters.

Took out the board and air conditioner and was surprised at how it opened up the room.

We finally bought kayaks and took two trips down the river.
First was from M-66 to home, second was home to downtown Evart.
